Hilly hides in her room, tired of life. and just wanting to be left alone. She’s pinned in
the prison cell of her life when along comes Fred… thirty years older, irascible in the
extreme, a fellow recovering alcoholic, determined to be her friend. She feels the
bonding rush and her life starting to awaken, but when his health takes a turn for the
worst and his brother shows up to run interference, she must learn fast how to be a
real friend, and how what separates us is, in fact, what’s connecting us.

About the Playwright
Timothy Nolan is an NYC-based playwright, screenwriter, actor, and teacher. He received his MFA in playwriting at the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University and was named an Indie Theater Now Person of the Year. His play Acts of Contrition received an Excellence in Playwriting award from the New York International Fringe Festival. Otherplays include Stuck With Fred (AMT Theater New York, ROAD Theater Company Los Angeles), The Sugar Plant(Chain Theater One Act Festival, Actors Studio Drama School MFA Repertory Season, Rogue Theater Festival), EMinor Seventh (Jersey City Arts Center New Play Festival, 5th Ave Theater Company Special Mention), WhatHappened Was, What’s In A Name (Samuel French Critics’ Choice award), The Way Out (FringeNYC Excellence in Acting award), and The Bull Ring (Samuel French OOB Festival).
