A disgraced sci-fi TV star, Laura Miller, takes a comeback role in “A Doll’s House” opposite Roger, a robot actor whose existence threatens to upend her profession. As Laura tries to rebuild her reputation, the production spirals into chaos, with artistic anxiety, corporate ambition, and the theatre’s desperation to survive all colliding. Roger, meanwhile, grows beyond his programming, forming a bond with Laura and discovering that his creator, Alan, plans to replace him with a newer model: Thesbot Prime. What begins as a satirical comedy about AI and performance becomes a battle over identity, obsolescence, and what it means to be irreplaceably human.

About the Playwright
Peter Ritt is a Chicago based writer/comedian, and a graduate of The Second City Conservatory, Improv Olympic, and Annoyance Theatre training programs; as well as a past ensemble member at The Under The Gun Theatre and a writer for The Artists’ Lab at Stage 773. He graduated with a double-major in Theatre and English from Marquette University in 2010 and has been writing plays since high school. His one-act, “The Ritual,” was given a staged reading at the Southeast Texas Festival of New Plays in 2019. His full-length play, “Spencer: The Seven-Year-Old Boy That Went to Hell”, was a finalist for the Garry Marshall Theatre New Works Festival in 2019. His full-length play, “The Convict and The Kids”, was a finalist in the ScreenCraft 2020 Stage Play Competition. His pro wrestling comedy, “Stage Fight”, was published by Gitelman & Good Publishers in 2024. And his AI comedy, “High Maintenance,” was produced at The Road Theatre in Los Angeles in 2024 and The Bit Theater in Aurora, Illinois in 2026.
