MY LIFE AS YOU
by Laura Rohrman

My Life As You is a poignant, sharply funny, romantic comedy set in the late ’90s, just as the Internet begins reshaping how we live and connect. Stella is in the throes of a “young life crisis”—she’s impulsively broken up with her boyfriend, quit her San Francisco advertising job and fled to Chicago for a fresh start. But crashing on the couch of her type-A friend, Diana, might not be the best move. Jealousy, ambition, and the frantic desire to “figure it all out” before 30 push the two women toward hilarious—and occasionally disastrous—choices. In a desperate search for happiness, they try everything – even becoming each other.

I was in an early version of this show in New York 23 years ago and to date, it’s still my husband’s favorite show he’s seen me in. So funny, and a nostalgic look at how the world has changed, even though our personal relationships, boundaries, and desire for genuine connection haven’t!
Beautifully written, raw, and wickedly funny.
