THE PLANET EARTH FAREWELL CONCERT is an interactive satire with songs, combining immersive theater, political satire, and cabaret to take a multifaceted, absurdist look at where we’re at, where we’re going, and what we can do. The action begins at an anthropomorphic Planet Earth’s final concert, then shifts to (spoiler alert) her funeral.

About the Playwright
Jonas Oppenheim’s plays have been performed in theaters, parks, parking lots, basements, back alleys, and the streets outside of multiple presidential conventions, drawing the attention of the Secret Service. He is the recipient of LA Weekly and Stage Raw awards for writing and directing; an Individual Artist Fellowship from the California Arts Council, the John Golden Playwriting Award, and the Petersen Emerging Playwright Award; and support from The Puffin Foundation, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, and the Jerome Foundation. He developed an original sitcom with CBS/Warner Brothers, and is a story producer on AMERICAN GANGSTER: TRAP QUEENS for BET+.
