THIRST FOR EDEN

by Christopher G. Smith

In the early 1960s, a volatile reunion ignites between Jake Adams, a legendary, hard-drinking American author, and his estranged son, Daniel Cain. Their fragile bond is deeply burdened by the shadow of Jake’s fame, a failed marriage, and a lifetime of reckless adventure. Compounding the tension is Faith, Jake’s young assistant who shares a complicated romantic past with Daniel. As Daniel seeks a genuine connection, he is continually sidelined by Jake’s consuming obsession to pen one last masterpiece. Privately, Jake is both comforted and tormented by J.B. (John Barleycorn), a phantom embodying his inner voice and dependency. As relationships unravel, each character is forced into a raw, inevitable struggle to understand the tragic arc of their lives and face the consequences of their choices.
