This is a heart warming play that explores the different types of grief an individual can feel. Not only do we see grief provoked by death, but grief experienced when expectations are not met. Each character embarks on their own unique journey of healing. It explores the complexities of family and the construction of masculinity in relation to the different women in Junie’s life.

“Volver Volver Volver” is a lovely play, truly an emotional journey. From Junie’s poignant journey of self-discovery to the intricately drawn relationships with his mother, wife, and daughter, each character pulsates with authenticity and depth. As a New Mexican, seeing these characters come to life on stage feels like a mirror reflecting our own experiences, our struggles, and our triumphs. In a landscape where accurate representation is often elusive, this play stands as a beacon of authenticity, shining a light on the rich tapestry of life. At its core, “Volver Volver Volver” is a testament to the enduring power of love and forgiveness. Through Junie’s odyssey, we are reminded of the transformative nature of these virtues, and their ability to heal even the deepest wounds of the soul.
